Our Story
In 2024, Daniel Arad and Shira Dagan founded Contamio as part of the Aviram Sustainability and Climate Program. What began as a mission to reduce food waste in production facilities quickly evolved into a broader commitment to food safety, risk prevention, and sustainability. After learning how recalls and contamination events were causing massive waste, financial loss, and even public health risks, we realized the industry needed smarter, real-time solutions built with a sustainability-first mindset.
As we dug deeper into the food production world, we encountered a common frustration shared by many quality and safety managers: outdated food safety systems. Despite the high stakes, manufacturers were still relying on risk plans that were static, slow to update, and disconnected from what was actually happening on the ground. In an industry where a single contamination can have devastating consequences, we knew there had to be a better way.
We set out to change that.
That’s why we built Contamio, not just as a tech solution, but as a smarter approach to food safety. Our platform uses big data and machine learning to combine historical contamination trends with real-time local insights, helping teams detect risks early. Unlike static risk plans, Contamio continuously adapts and delivers dynamic, data-driven recommendations to prevent problems before they escalate.
